How do I keep my skin smooth (not dry & not oily!) & pimple free?

I also use facial wash %26amp; i don't put anything else in my face after that, my mom said I should put vaseline on my face to prevent dryness, but I don't want my skni to be oily? What should I do?How do I keep my skin smooth (not dry %26amp; not oily!) %26amp; pimple free?
The skin naturally takes care of it's own balance. If you use harsh soaps that remove all the oils from it, it will generate a larger amount of oils to protect itself. Washing with these soaps will give you wrinkles around your eyes and moth, where the skin is more tender, and make pimples worse elsewhere.

The best thing to do it to keep it clean and hydrated. It helped me a lot to do the following:

1) At night, wash your face with a mild glycerin soap and warm water.

2) Use some mild Benzol Peroxide cream (you may buy this at your local pharmacist, or he can make it for you) on the blemished areas -never around your eyes-. Other products, like Clearasil or Neutrogena are very harsh on the skin, and leave it dry and with a stretchy feeling.

3) In the morning, rinse your face well, and use some hydrating lotion. You may buy some special lotions for greasy skins, that will moisturize without overwhelming it.

If you prevent yourself from eating junk food or very greasy foods, your skin will get better very quickly.

lotion not vaseline. as far as pimple free, those little singles boxes of raisins, eat 1 little box a day it keeps you from getting them or greatly reduces the amount you get.
*Pimple free skin-

1. Wash your face at least twice a day with a mild cleanser. Use a pH-balanced cleanser without perfumes or too many chemical additives.

2. Touch your face as little as possible, and only when your hands are clean.

3. Avoid squeezing pimples. Bacteria on your hands or on unsterile equipment can lead to more blemishes and possible scarring.

4. Steam your face once or twice a week to help open the pores. Boil water, remove the pot from the stove, drape a towel over your head and hold your face over the pot. Then rinse your face with cold water. (See ';Make an Herbal Facial,'; under Related eHows.)

5. Use essential oils such as calendula, chamomile, juniper, lavendar and mint directly on your skin. Mix 10 drops of any of the oils with 2 tbsp. soy or almond oil, and smooth a few drops on dampened skin.

6. Try using herbs. Saw palmetto can help balance boys' hormones, while chaste tree berry can do the same for girls. Echinacea, alfalfa, burdock root, cayenne, chaparral and yellow dock root are also helpful.

7. Consider other topical mixtures. Beat an egg yolk, apply it with a cotton ball and leave it on for 15 minutes. Alternatively, mix oatmeal and honey together to form a paste and apply it to your face. Oatmeal soaks up excess oil and honey soothes the skin.

8. Take acidophilus to fight bacteria.

9. Eat a diet high in fiber, including whole grains and fresh vegetables and fruits, to keep your body healthy overall and provide nutrients to your skin. Stay away from junk food, caffeine and salty foods.

10. Determine whether specific foods aggravate your skin and eliminate them from your diet.

11. Consider adding zinc supplements to your diet.

12. Limit your exposure to the sun and reduce the stress in your life.

*Smooth %26amp; moisturised skin-

1. Remember the basics: Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your skin well hydrated; eat a high-quality diet rich in fruits and vegetables; and limit sun exposure.

2. Wash your face no more than twice a day with a gentle cleanser formulated for dry skin. Washing more often can dry your skin.

3. Take short baths or showers and use warm rather than hot water. Try to limit showers and baths to one per day. Use soap only where you need it, such as on your underarms and groin.

4. Add a few teaspoons of olive oil or lavender-scented oil to your bath.

5. Pat your skin dry after washing. Avoid rubbing yourself dry with a towel, which can whisk away essential oils needed for moisture.

6. Apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Heed the advice of many experts in choosing a moisturizer'less is more when it comes to the ingredient list.

7. Understand that moisturizers contain barriers, which keep water on the skin, and water binders, which whisk moisture from the inner layer of skin to the top layer. Look for ingredients such as glycerin, alpha hydroxy acids, urea and lactic acids (binders), combined with petrolatum, lanolin or silicone derivatives (barriers). You have a choice of hundreds of products. A dermatologist or other skin care expert may be able to advise you on your specific needs, but trial and error will probably be your best bet in finding the product that's right for you.

8. Aim for a comfortable level of humidity in your home or office. Too much heat or too much air-conditioning can rob your skin of moisture.
