Why does proactiv make my skin REALLY shiny and even a little oily?

Many people complain about their skin getting very dry or flaky, but for me, when I use proactive in the morning, my skin looks very shiny and even a little oily. Why is that/what should I do about it?Why does proactiv make my skin REALLY shiny and even a little oily?
Sometimes when your skin gets striped of all the necessary oils it produces more so that's why it could be getting a little oily. You need to make sure to bring moisture back either with a really good hydrating mask or cream.

Wat is the best thing for really oily skin?

i have really bad oily skin when i have a shower in the morning its goes ok but in the mid day it stars to break out with oily skin plz can someone hlpWat is the best thing for really oily skin?
get some oil blotting sheets and in the afternoon just blot the extra oil from your face.Wat is the best thing for really oily skin?
Just wash your face more often.
Blotting paper for oily skin. Clarins do them and so does the Body Shop.
Oil blotting absorbing sheets.

99p from superdrug for 65 sheets.

I would also recommend you get a good skin care routine. I recommend Dermalogica, they recommended my skin care regime and I am always good to go lol =] x
It sounds so counter-intuitive, but moisturizing after washing means that your skin produces less oil. (The blotting suggestion is also good, and plain old toilet paper works nearly as well as blotting sheets.) Use any light, non-comedogenic moisturizer, like Neutrogena's Moisture, the sensitive skin formula.
a chip pan
For you face: Leaf and Rusher Green Tea Wash

Body: Murad Acne wash (because it cuts oil)

Also Boscia makes great blotting papers for your face to take away the excess oil throughout the day.

Do you moisturize? If not, it could be that your skin is actually dry and it is over producing oil to make up for being too dry.

Best tinted moisturizer for oily skin?

i have reallyyyyy oily skin and foundation just doesn't work for me any suggestions?

thanks!Best tinted moisturizer for oily skin?
idk about tinted moisturizers but mixing your foundation %26amp; regular moisturizer works as a tinted moisturizer :]Best tinted moisturizer for oily skin?
I love Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer OIL FREE (it's good for oily skin). It's a little pricey, but its worth it. It doesnt make me so oily throughout the day.

Whats the best long lasting makeup for oily skin?

MACWhats the best long lasting makeup for oily skin?
Almay they have a wide range of things for oily skin.Whats the best long lasting makeup for oily skin?
make sure you are using products suited to your skin type. anything made for acne can be drying, which will cause more oil production. anything not oil free may be adding to your problem.

these are the best long-lasting foundations for oily skin that i have tried...

mark powder buff foundation $8

avon perfect wear extralasting $10

revlon colorstay $12

clinique superfit $20

merle norman lasting $26

clarins truly matte $35

they all have pretty extensive color ranges, and can be found all over the US. the first is a powder, and the rest are liquids.

blot away excess oil with blotting papers like clean %26amp; clear, palladio, or boscia. adding more powder will make you look cakey.
Minnie, aularale.com/7002 has what you need to control the oiliness of your skin (moisture balancing skin care) and water based foundations that last all day.
I have been using clinique for the past 4 years %26amp; it's the only make up that has stayed on my face %26amp; not went patchy.

Also apply foundation with a brush
Guerlain Matte rose foundation, nordstroms, bloomingdales
For oily skin use a oil free cleansingmilk to cleanse the dirt from the pores. After that apply a herbal toner like wichhazel and neem toner. Then take an ice cube and rub it on face and neck till it melts. Let face dry naturally. Apply a water based foundation or a gel based one ( Avon is best). dont rub too much. Loosely dust translucent powder . Take a pinch of eyeshadow on finger tip and apply lightly on eye lids. Take an eye pencil and very lightly touch the edge of eyelids. Apply a matte lipstick of your choice.
Make sure it's oil free and you should have no problems x
any good brand does well....but use their MATTE effect/finish line....never cream-based foundations or blush or eye shadow...always powder based.....
I recommend a mineral foundation and oil-absorber. I like Arbonne's Personalizer and Mineral Foundation.

The Personalizer can be applied under and/or over the foundation. It covers any red spots and absorbs the oil. It's fabulous!
What do you mean lke make or the actual product
Hands down, kms mineral essentials. It is oil free and feels very light on, but it controls oil like no other products I've used especially when I team it with the mineral veil. I keep a very busy schedule and do not have time to continuously touch up during the day. I don't have to with kms.

  • Which is better for oily skin, powder or liquid make-up?

also is it okay to use both of them?Which is better for oily skin, powder or liquid make-up?
I think powder.... It gets rid of the oil.Which is better for oily skin, powder or liquid make-up?
powder will make your skin shine less, which covers up the illusion for oily skin. but just make sure that you keep your skin clean with neutrogena or face masks before you cover up your pores with tons of makeup
liquid make-up. because powder goes into your pores %26amp; it gives you pimples.. 鈾?hope i helped! xo0x
    powder
    I don't ware makeup
I would think that powder would be better. I prefer powder, though. I have oily skin too! I think that you can use both. Like, liquid foundation to cover imperfections and to even out your skin tone. Then you could use a light powder to set it. Well, good luck!
powder is preferable, but liquid ones with oil-free properties will also do.
powder as it dries up any oilness on the skin
    Powder
powder is better but if u use oilfree liquid makeup it works 2
if you do liquid, make sure its oil free as well as the powder should be oil free. i finish off my liquid with a powder foundation. powder minimizes the shine but dont cake it on. carry around oil blotting sheets instead of constantly putting on the powder.
there both bad for your skin

    but powder is better

make sure u wash it off befor you sleep becuse if you dont then that will cause spots

Yes, it's okay to use both, but try mineral, because oil makes your skin acne-prone. (You probably knew that). I recommend Neutrogena or Covergirl mineral makeups. Hope this helped! ^_^

What is a good facial cleanser for oily skin that has light acne? but not something overdrying?

When I was younger I had acne and very oily skin. After a treatment from my dermatologist she recommended me use Purpose cleanser and moisterizer twice a day. I have now been using it for 12 years. It does not get nearly as much attention as it should. It is super gentle, but cleans so well without drying out you skin. Just try it for a month. I guarantee you will love it! You can get it anywhere- Target, Walgreens, or even Walmart. What is a good facial cleanser for oily skin that has light acne? but not something overdrying?
arbonne has a line that is great, it has really improved my skin and there is a whole system with it at a pretty good price.

I also use Clinique daily moisturizing lotion to keep my skin less flaky and it doesn't get it oily.

I highly recommend the FC5 from arbonne also, its makes skin less oily. What is a good facial cleanser for oily skin that has light acne? but not something overdrying?
I have oily skin and barely any acne too! But when I don't use this facial cleanser i get pimples. I use Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. It's AMAZING and doesnt dry out. And then after that, I buy AmLactin lotion. It really helps acne its amazing too! Neutrogena is great for oily skin A TON! you should totally buy it i completely recommend!
try Patricia Wexler M.D. Exfoliating Facial Cleanser with Acnostat. I used to have acne and some oily spots and I tried everything but it would dry out my skin too much. This product worked wonders for my skin. Also, you can use the Night Acne serum, it will nourish your skin and help kill acne. Good luck! You can buy these products at Bath and Body Works or online.
i use skin id from neutrogena. it works GREAT! I have been using it for about 7 months now and i have seen a reduction in the bad acne oils on my face but my skin hasnt dried out like it usually does with OTC facial cleansers (i've tried practically everything)
There are many products out there now, but I have a similar problem. I would try maybe clarins, you can get a full kit, it is expensive and kind of helps acne, but makes the skin smooth.
Oil of Olay makes awesome products.. %26amp; wal-mart has off brands that are the same ingredients just a lot cheaper!
Clean %26amp; Clear deep action cream cleanser. LOOOOVE IT.
Try the oil cleansing method. Google it up.

you need to exfoliate you face. In other words ,get the dead skin off. This should help, but with oily skin, there is not alot you can do for it other than get a good toner. cheap toners are witch hazel or sea breeze ,I am sure there are other good ones out there. This will help some, I have oily skin also. you can keep it at bay for a little while but the shine will always show through eventually.

Does that bare minerals powder makeup really work? I have oily skin light acne scars from teen years.?

bareMinerals makeup is about being true to your identity. Bare Escentuals started the revolution in mineral makeup with the introduction of our 100% pure bareMinerals鈩?

All foundations, cheek and eye colors have been crushed to a silky, creamy powder form... but it's NOT a powder. These are 100% pure bareMinerals that are free of preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other harmful chemicals. The formula provides impeccable coverage for every skin type and skin tone, and protects with a natural sunscreen.

But bareMinerals are just the beginning. Our makeup line also offers complete color cosmetics and treatments designed to enhance your natural beauty, such as lipsticks, lip liners, lip glosses, mascaras, skin preps, flawless application brushes and more.Does that bare minerals powder makeup really work? I have oily skin light acne scars from teen years.?
I prefer KmS Mineral Essentials. I, along with other women cannot tolerate the bismuth oxychloride, a form of arsenic lead in Bare Minerals. KmS is a comparable brand to bare minerals minus the bismuth. It does wonders at controlling the oil in my skin, and the concealer covers all of my many imperfections.Does that bare minerals powder makeup really work? I have oily skin light acne scars from teen years.?
I have oily skin, too, and I don't think it works well for me. I have tried several of the *mineral* foundations/powders. For my oily skin the only products that really work well are Loreal or Lancome or Clinique foundation/powder for oily skin. Yes, some of them cost more, but they work MUCH better for oily skin! The makeup stays on longer and does not shine as much.
I have oily skin as well, and it did not control it like I thought it would. I have since switched to kms mineral essentials. It is a pure makeup as well, but it contains kaolin clay which is why it absorbs oil so much better. It also is more cost effective than bare minerals and does not contain Bismuth. Love it!
Actually , it works best for people with oily skin. I used it for years but my skin changed and now its dry ( not good for minerals) Go to Sephora. Listed the link below and pick the shade according to the description it gives you . Most women fall under light medium or medium but it also depends on your skin tone . good luck and have fun !!\ :)
im only young but i know alot about make-up n skin care

well first of all it may react to your skin if you have had acne in the pass but there nothing to worry about it works give it a try for a couple of wks n youll see the difference
It does work really really well. The worst part is finding the right shade. Even when the sales people that work there do a bad job. But its really worth the price. It will cover all your scars too.
Yes, it works great for those problems. It also benefits your skin, adding healthiness to your skin.
IT WORKS GREAT.... IT COVERS UP EVERYTHING.... oily skin works reaaly well with it too.

Also, I am VERY, very fair, with yellow undertones (I always have a hard time finding a color match!).

    Thanks!

For the best make-up try Mary Kay it works great for all skin types.

You can get the perfect color match.
I like the Neutrogena Brand Minerals Powder. It doesn't stop oil though.

The best powder for that is Corn Silk (look in the Sally Hansen products) loose powder. I keep switching looking at all the new products, but keep going back. I have very oily skin, and most powders never last beyond 4 hours. The Corn Silk works almost 8 hours without touch up.

I use them both sometimes. I have almost white skin with yellow undertones. ';Fair'; most of the time seems too dark for me in some brands- sounds like you might be the same.
Explore the Everyday Minerals product . . . less ingredients, especially the bismuth which many are sensitive to as well. I have a bit of a T zone so the Original Glo makes it appear a bit dewy. They have 4 bases. I want to try their semi-matte next.
    Go here:

    And here:

    http://www.mineralogie.biz/

    Both work well.
I'm not too sure, but Bare Minerals made me break out too! It was a waste of my money.

At the moment I'm not using any mineral make up, but I'm using Maybelline and I never been happier!
I had the same problem as well. However, Lancome has a shine control powder which I use religiously during the summer. They have different shades, so if you go to the Lancome counter the lady will pick out the best color for you (but before you buy, step outside and look at the color and see if it matches your skin color best). It's around $32 and I usually buy it when they have free gifts with purchase (useful because the mascara, lipstick and lip gloss will last for a long time).

    Good luck, hope this helps.

Oily skin in and of itself is not a bad thing. We need oil on our skin for it to be healthy. If the oil however, clogs up a pore then you can start having problems. Keeping your skin clean is important. You are more likely to have oily skin in what is called the T zone - your nose and your forehead.

An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

[Oily Skin] Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation?

Apparently this is a really good foundation and includes all the layers you need.

If you have oily skin would you still need to touch it up with powder during the day?

It says it is suitable for ALL skin types..

Do you think it would prevent oily skin, as it says there is no need for powder?

By the way, please don't advertise other brands, unless it meets the requirments of the question.

Thanks.[Oily Skin] Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation?
How oily is your skin? I have super oily skin, and even the expensive makeup that's made for oily skin doesn't make a bit of difference for me! However if your skin is only slightly oily then it may work well for you. (Unfortunately I have not actually tried this foundation .... I am currently using Aromaleigh brand mineral makeup [www.aromaleigh.com] since mineral makeup is healthier for your skin than regular -- plus this is the only brand that makes a foundation light enough for me!)

Also, I've found that touching up with powder to prevent shine is a bad idea -- the powder just mixes with the oil on your face to create a muddy mess! Instead try touching up with blotting sheets (Clean and Clear makes some affordable ones) -- they soak up the oil without messing up your makeup! Blotting sheets are definitely my life-saver product :)

I also don't believe than any makeup can PREVENT oily skin. (It may absorb the oil and/or create a mattifying effect, but I doubt it will actually make your skin produce less oil, unless it has some drying medications in it like salicylic acid -- but even that doesn't work for everyone. I've tried tons of products and NONE made a difference with my oily skin!) Most recent research seems to indicate that most really oily skin is caused by one of two things:

    1. A moisture imbalance in your skin/body -- when your skin gets dehydrated, it overcompensates by producing more oil. If this is the case, you may be able to improve your oily skin by drinking more water, taking omega-3 supplements, using a noncomedogenic (won't clog pores) moisturizer, and avoiding harsh cleansers and acne products that dry out your skin.

    2. An imbalance of the hormone androgen. Not sure if there's an easy cure for this .... birth control helps some people but not all.

You are certainly welcome to try the Max Factor foundation, and if it doesn't work pick up some blotting sheets or try some of the tips above to prevent oily skin! Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you![Oily Skin] Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation?
If it's oil-free then i guess there's no need to touch it up with a powder unless you really have a severe oily skin problem.
i have this makeup and i also have very oily skin...............if you wear a oil free face cream under your makeup you wont have any problems

I now have oily skin, what do i do?

Ok i'm a guy 22, i have oily skin from over washing it.

I had great skin before and i'm wondering how to undo this. I don't really want to continue to wash my face with cleaners.

But i can't really leave it either. Help.I now have oily skin, what do i do?
You don't get oily skin from over washing it. reasons why you have an oily skin is because of the increase hormones in our bodies and this is just normal. All I can suggest is if you don't want to use those cleaners then just use anti-bacterial or just a simple mild soap to avoid pimples.I now have oily skin, what do i do?
Consider this- people a hundred years ago didn't have skin problems and acne as frequently as people today do. Why not? They didn't smother their skin with chemicals to take care of every small zit. Just wash your face in the morning and before you go to bed. It'll take a few weeks, but it will get back to normal. And stop eating all that junk food, as acne comes from the INSIDE. A healthy diet is really the best thing for helping acne.
try some of the things from MoorSpa they have different products for different skin types Mattifying Moisturiser sounds like the thing for you also you can warm it up buy rolling it round your fingertips which will help it get deeper in to your skin

Does oily skin reduce skin complexion?

Pls gimme sources from the net if possible. (Tried a google search...no satisfactory results)Does oily skin reduce skin complexion?
Complexion refers to the natural colour, texture and appearance of the skin especially of the face so oily skin is your complexion it does not reduce it. However, people like me with oily skin can tend to have larger pores, shiny forehead, nose and chin and a tendency to 'breakout'.

I control my oiliness using a pH balanced cleanser (the one I use is from the chemist called Cetaphil, which is reasonably cheap); I then tone my skin to tighten the pores before moisturising. Moisturising is still an important step in skincare even when your skin is oily.

    Try this site

http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-t鈥?/a>Does oily skin reduce skin complexion?
try the skincare site, i donno the exact website but try it u will get it.
Yes but we can conrol in now its summer time apply cucumber paste and eat lots of vegetables and fruits.for the oily skin cucumber paste will work as a cleanser.drink lots of water.apply ice to tide up your skin's tissue.
    yes
You can't generalise it , usually as oil skin is prone to acne they tend to spoil your complexion . If you don't have pimples then it is great .

What happens if the wrong products are used on oily skin?

break out..get a rash.. or have your skin get even oiler if that is possible.. It is always better to visit a dermatologist. What happens if the wrong products are used on oily skin?
more oily skin and more icky pimples. and black heads and all that not fun stuff to deal wit. What happens if the wrong products are used on oily skin?
Too much oil ... oilier skin and possibility of pimples. Too much astringent and skin may flake and dry. This requires a little experimentation on your part.
You will either break out or dry way out.
breakouts would definitely happen skin getting irritated, redness itching the basics
u'll get pimples.. ew!! get those oils out of ur skin, girl.. use clearasil ultra.
You could start to breakout. Also if you wash your face too much it cleanses the skin, but it also can dry it out, causing it to look dull, but most importantly, it may cause irritation and remove the natural emolients your body produces to keep it healthy. When you bathe, always use a moisture-rich cleanser, and always pamper your skin with a daily moisturizer. There is a personalizer I use to avoid the shinny look on your face.
    you get pimples!
I have the same oily skin problem and I have to use oil free products. If i don't, the pores become very clogged and I break out easily.

they work great i promise i use them because i have the same problem. you just take one and tap it all around your face and the oil is absorbed and your skin will be clear!

I have oily skin what can i do about it?

i have very oily skin and im sick of it and want to do some thing about it. can you recomend any products or at home stuff for it please .

thanks alot :)I have oily skin what can i do about it?
If you have a lot of pimples and it clogs all your pores i suggest going to a dermatologist. There are tons of oily skin solutions. I use NeoStrata. If you can't get to a dermatologist than just get a washcloth, soap, and water and wash your face thoroughly. Don't scrub roughly because it can spread pimples around and make you break out even more. I have oily skin what can i do about it?
DO NOT wash your face constantly, that will only dry out your skin so that it produces more oil to moisturize it. There are these thin sheets of paper called blotting papers, you can use those to soak up the extra oil on your face, I think you can get them at a drugstore. Also, make sure you're not over-moisturizing, and make sure you wash your face twice (only twice) a day. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash, I don't know what you use but I really like it, it's just a basic cleanser but it works well. Try using a toner too, if you don't already.
washing your face too much can dry it out... i recommend these things...

huggies baby wipes- they take off oil without drying skin. The unscented ones are the best because they dont make your face smell. Make sure you get huggies. Also, if you have bangs, pull them back. Oils from your hair rub onto your forehead and give you more oily skin. If you have acne, nutrogena oil free acne wash. It works really well without drying our skin. If face products dry out your skin, rub lotion into your hands, almost all the way, and dab your hands on your face. I hope i helped!!! :)
Actually washing your face doesn't really help. I have oily skin as well but i use Oxy 5 acne cream and it really works. I have been using it for like a 1 year and i have not gotten any pupils or whiteheads yet.
Well I have this perfect stuff. I used to have oily skin but then i discovered a product called Loreal Oil controller for oily skin. You should buy some. It really works. I hope you find something. GOOD LUCK!
Cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser for oily skin. Then, use a mattifying moisturizer such as Clinique or The Body Shop's Seaweed moisturizer. They glide on and mattify the skin to keep from absorbing excess oil.
don't wash it too many times, but the best soap i think is dove. i also have the clean and clear acne kit. But i really love dove soap(:
Wash your face after every 2-3 hrs or so. Try to keep away from direct sunlight. Use cream cleansers, which might help replenish your pores. Also, drink lots of water. Good luck.
use powder makeup and stuff. and ulta has some cool oil-removing pads that u dab on your face-they dont even remove your makeup or smudge it!
wash your face as many times as you can
use noxema. its pretty cheap. i use it allot, gets rid of allot of oils and makes ur skin beautiful(:
    neutrogena time!
I would try using Clearasil Ultra.

it really seemed to help me out! :)

Natural treatment for acne marks & oily skin?

basically: i've suffered from moderate acne for the previous years, but it has grown to be mild. i've been using 100% tea tree oil to combat zits, and it seems to be very effective. i have oily skin which i believe is still considerably acne prone.

so what are some good essential oils or any other (affordable) ways to rid existing acne scars that is friendly to such skin like mine?

what may also be an effective way to decrease the oiliness of the skin?

i would love for as much information as possible, with reliable sources

all help would be greatly appreciated

thank you in advance!Natural treatment for acne marks %26amp; oily skin?
these 'carrier oils' are astringent (so they will stop the oiliness) hazelnut, grapeseed and jojoba. aloe vera gel is also very good, especially at healing scars and oiliness. and you can mix 2 drops of essential oils to a tablespoon of those. the best for your skin type would be lavender, orange, bergamot, lemon, sandalwood and/or rose. all those are extremely healing and regenerating to the skin. teas can have a great affect of lessening oiliness; such as green tea, yarrow, calendula, and nettle. toners are also necessary. look for one without alcohol. I think the bets are 'hydrosols' such as rosemary, rose or witch hazel: http://www.sunrosearomatics.com/catalog/鈥?/a>Natural treatment for acne marks %26amp; oily skin?
I use a toner to decrease the oil on my face. It is 100% natural toner and it works well. You can find toners at any place that sells beauty supplies, I suppose.

I noticed using a natural scrub moisturizes my skin without me breaking out: I use a small amount of olive oil and sugar. You scrub your face with it for a bit then wash it off with warm water and a facecloth.

    Hope that helps.
i've heard ORGANIC apple cider vinegar can help with acne. the reason it has to be organic is because pasterization takes ''the mother'' out of it, which has all the healing properties
Well, to cure the oily part i use Jabon de Azufre (its a type of soap)

i dont know if you've ever tried the proactive solutions they work but you have to be consistant!

Best to use Dove soap bar.

After washing your face use cetaphil facial lotion. It will keep your skin from getting greasy or dry.

i suggest to go for some home remedies rather than relayin on the drug store products which may not give the desired results or even make the situaion worse...wot u should do is make your skin healthy..

i shall list out a few home remedies n tips which mite help u deal better..u can choose from these n do concentrate on your T zones when you apply them..

1)rubbing ice cubes for 5 min after washing face with cold water or luke warm water before any make up or outing helps maintaing the oil in control

2)take 2-3 teaspoons of rice powder and mix it in orange juice (sufficient amt so dat u get a smooth paste).apply it all over your face and neck n let it dry.wash it off with orange juice itself.it makes your skin glow..it greatly improves comlexion and removes acne in jus 2 weeks time..this will help u maintain the oil balance, givin it a glow

3)if yo skin is very oily, apply egg white in layers until a thick mask is formed n wash it off after half an hour

4)lemon(juice) and sugar mixture can b applied..apply 2-3 coats and wash it off when you feel its dry or after bout an hour.

5)rubbin your skin with tomato juice n washing it off after 20 min s very good..keeps skin smooth and healthy

6)apply honey on your face and neck and wash it off after 20 min.

7)i ld suggest d use of st.ives face scrub for oil %26amp; acne prone skin for washing yo skin..don wash it wid soap or face scrubs more than twice a day as dis would again lead to excess oil production.dun rub yo face usin towel, instead use tissues..

8)apply calamine at night n wash it off in d morning

9)rose water n oatmeal is very effective in preventin future break outs and closin the pores.apply oatmeal powder with rose water mixed into a paste n wash it off after 20-30 min using cold water.the cold water closes the newly cleaned pores, protecting against breakouts n black or white heads in future

10)applyin a paste of neem and turmeric on marks is good but make sure you are not allergic to turmeric

    11) tomato juice n honey mixed can be used as a good facial

    12) lemon(juice) and tomato(juice) mixture can be applied..ie,2-3 coats and wash it off after bout 30 min

whatever u do, mak sure u don expose yo skin to direct sun..also make it a point u drink at least glasses f water on wakin up daily n atleast 8 glasses f water daily..

keep yourselves free from all tensions n also maintain a healthy diet, which includes lots of green veggies..

all these worked well for me...hope this helps u too..

    god bless

    4. Mix 1 tablespoon orange peel powder with 1 tablespoon honey and 1/2 teaspoon lime juice. Apply and leave for 10 minutes. Wash.

clinique has good moisturizers. they are known for sensitive skin products. you probably just need a good lightweight moisturizer for combination skin that is oil free.

I love this stuff - you don't even know! It's make by The Body Shop - the seaweed line of cleansers.

I use the exfoliator in the shower every other day. They also have a sunscreen lotion for the face - and also a cleanser, night cream and toner.

I only use the exfoliator and facial cleanser. I have the toner and night cream but don't ever seem to use it. I mentioned this to my friend who also has combination skin - and she's hooked too.

The Body Shop has representatives like AVON now - maybe you should host a party in your area and get to know all the lines of make up etc. (honestly, I'm not a rep...)

The Alba family of products is fantastic also - you can get it at Longs. I use the vitamin A and jasmin moisturizer. Good luck!
Clean %26amp; Clear helps me and after u use it get any type of astringent oil and put on daily.

Does oily skin really cause acne?

My skin gets pretty oily and I get a few pimples. My mom also has oily skin but her skin is nice shiny and smooth. Why is this? Is it just because i'm a teenager?Does oily skin really cause acne?
Uhm...as far as i know, yeah..oily skin is a factor for people to have a pimple prone skin (don't worry, we share the same predicament). Acne is primarily caused by dead skin cells that are trapped in our skin pores, probably by the oil secreted by our sebaceous glands. And yup, we adolescents are prone to acne because we are undergoing different hormonal changes.

Just wash your face whenever it is oily or itchy, and don't touch your face if it is so oily.Does oily skin really cause acne?
yup it most likely is cuz ur a teenager

try washing ur face with a mild cleanser every morning and night it should help
i think its just the way your skin is. every body is different so i wouldnt worry
nah.. i've got an oily skin and have never had acne.
yes its true that oily skin is the cause of the acnes...

but its not the only reason....the dust and polluted air is also one of the reason for acnes...

the oil on your face is responsible for oil to stick on your skin and causes acnes...

try washing your face 3 times a day and avoid oily food at all cost workout a lil (the main purpose is to sweat ans clean the pores of your skin)....and drink a lot of water ...thats important as well...

its worked for meh...may be it can help you as well ...

    Chao ^_^;

Yes , it must be because you are a teenager ....

I've used http://secret-of-my-beauty.weliketoblog.鈥?/a> and it has worked great !!

They even have a MONEY BACK gurantee policy !!
Its depend on the diet and your life style. If you are the outdoor type and eat lots of fast oily food chances of getting acne is more.

Does oily skin stay young longer than dry?

Staying young requires that you balance your skin whether it is oily or dry. Basically, it is feeding your skin whatever nutrients it requires to stay healthy and free of infections, and environmental obstacles. It begins with your food...you are what you eat. Stay away from any skincare that's on the shelves as they all contain ingredients that can be toxic to you. Key rule of thumb: if you can eat it, then put it on your skin.Does oily skin stay young longer than dry?
yes oily. too much soap can hurt. just look at the cultures that have good skin into their 20's. it's always the one's with less commercial products around. and just smoothen the stuff out around or whatever. yaDoes oily skin stay young longer than dry?
no, it will age the same, oily skin still needs mosituriser and good skin care rotine like all skin needs
That's what I've always heard and it seems to be true from what I've witnessed myself.
    The oily skin stay longer
its realLy trUe..i do the same thing and its effective...
    Yeah

Did you have normal skin then it became very oily and now its normal again?

I had great skin but for the last 2 years it has been an oil well. Recently I have begun to wear moisturizer b/c it was wayyy to oily before.Did you have normal skin then it became very oily and now its normal again?
Your skin changes as you age. It goes through different cycles, and you just adjust your skin care regimen accordingly. My skin has gone through normal, oily, dryness, combo of all, breakouts, clear, all sorts of stages. Some of it's hormones, some of it's weather, diet, stress level, any number of factors. Find the items that work for you for each stage and go with those.Did you have normal skin then it became very oily and now its normal again?
That is most likely due to the weather. If it is winter skin becomes more dry, and needs more moisturizer and help. If it is summer your skin gets lots of moisture.

Go to sephora, or a local salon where you can get more information and beauty advice. Hope i helped

    Be true, be you.

firstly if you just use a face wash you will only make things worse!

    cleanse

    tone

moisturize (this returns your skin to a normal moisture level, if you don't do this your skin will go overboard with the oil only making things worse).

you should do this morning and night.

and exfoliate two or three times a week. (any more will just aggravate your skin)

    Treatment For Oily Skin

    * Wash your face with soap-free cleanser, which is specially made for oily skin. Stay away from creamy face washes, as it will leave oily residue in the skin, making it look oilier. Soap is not recommended, because it takes away the essential natural oils from your skin.

    * You want to control the excess of oil in your skin, but do not want to make it dry. To serve the purpose, make use of an alcohol-free toner. Dab a cotton ball, dipped in toner, onto your face in circular motion.

    * Clay-based facial mask is the best for oily skin. Fuller's earth is appropriate for this skin type, as it makes it soft.

    * Apply a paste of uncooked oatmeal, mixed with one teaspoon of honey and half teaspoon of lemon, onto your face. Leave it for fifteen minutes, before rinsing your face with lukewarm water. Dry your face afterwards.

    * In order to make your skin less greasy, wear sunscreen lotion or gel. Avoid using sunscreen cream, as it would make your skin sticky.

    * Wipe the dust and dirt sticking to your face with wet tissue papers.

    * Wash your face with clear water, at least four times a day. This will remove the layers of oil from your face.

    * Even though your skin is oily, you need to moisturize it. Apply very little quantity of oil-free moisturizer on your face. You may use baby talcum powder, to wipe off the greasy residue of the moisturizer.

    * Choose appropriate make up for your skin. Stay away from liquid-based foundation, concealer, blush and eye-shadow, because they can make your face 'shine' with excess oil. Instead, go for powder-based products, which will dry up the excess oil and treat your pores.

    * Drink at least ten glasses of water daily, to keep the skin hydrated. Avoid eating oily food.
Water and oily foods don't make your face oily. It's generally your hormones, I'm guessing you're a teenager so there isn't anything that you can do about it as your body is changing a lot.

I'm a teenager too, and have bad oily skin. You can try the special face washes for oily skin and moisturizers, they didn't really help for me but you could give them a go.

I use Bare Escentuals make up, and it doesn't clog up my pores, so no spots! Use their ';Mineral Veil'; its a colourless powder which absorbs the oil on your face, and you can apply it throughout the day, if needed!

    Hope this helps!
An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details on oily skin log on to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

  • Foundation and powder for oily skin?

I prefer drugstore brand or MAC.

:] thank you.Foundation and powder for oily skin?
    Try the following.

    Foundation:

Covergirl Clean Makeup- This is a liquid foundaton that has a light feel to it, and its really great for creating an even skin tone. It's designed for oily skin too! Its also non-comedogenic so it doesn't clog pores.

    Powder:

Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder- Its the same as the above description, except in a powder form. It will help keep your makeup on your face and keep it oily. It comes in a green compact with a mirror, so you can take it to school or anywhere and do quick touchups while on the go.

Just in case, remember, foundation then powder. Good luck! Hope this has helped.

PS- You'll both of these at any drug store, and Walmart, or Target. The price is decent too!Foundation and powder for oily skin?
    Foundation:

Use MAC prep and prime - oil-free lotion

Then apply smashbox photo light primer

You can also use the matte gel from MAC (optional)

    and apply any foundation.

Powders are more tricky, and especially for oily skin.

You want to completely cleanse your face before any makeup application and use a primer that is not greasy or heavy.

Limit on the concealer and use a straight cut brush for a more thorough application.

What is the best foundation & primer for very OILY and breakout prone skin??

HELP! My face is always shiny and my make-up seems to fade by lunch.... I need something that won't make me break out. What is the best foundation %26amp; primer for very OILY and breakout prone skin??
As a person with oily skin, I have to disagree with the Bare Mineral users out there.

I know that a lot of people love that line, but after 2 months of use, I started to have major acne breakouts.

I personally now use the MakeUp Forever line. Their Duo Mat is wonders for oily skin. I also use their Mat Lotion, which seems to suck up the oil! They sell this product at Sephora stores and is relatively reasonably priced.

But I do have to add that everyone's skin type is different, so what may work for one person may not work for you. But I would definitely stick to powdered foundations, because you don't need to add that heavy liquid or cream to already oily-prone skin.

I did some googling research on Bare Minerals, and found that most dermatologists actually do not reccommend it, because apparently the minerals are not that pure (despite BM clinical tests). Dermatology and plastic surgery offices actually reccommend and sell a product called Jane Iredale (www.Janeiredale.com) if you are looking for a more mineral based product. They also have press links, and an interesting New York Times article discussing BM and Jane Iredale, which I thought was interesting. It might be worth looking into. What is the best foundation %26amp; primer for very OILY and breakout prone skin??
I would be very careful with most makeup products. They tend to have chemicals in them that cause breakouts. Yes, they'll cover up the acne, but they will also make it worse.

I agree with using bare minerals. The foundation provides excellent coverage and the mineral veil will help with the oiliness.
lemme tell u i had the same problem about an year ago (breakouts and acne).. n then i started using l'oreal acne response and my acne n breakouts have since then totally ceased..so try it,it might help u too.. for foundation i use l'oreal quickstick which is like a matte foundation n doesnt make ur skin look like u slathered oil all over it while covering up all ur blemishes.. i would also recommend clinique foundation for oily skin which is really good too.. try the one tht works best for u.. good luck!!
I have the same problem. If you get an answer that works, will you let me know( if you don't mind). I have tried everything that walmart sells.
use the wet/dry from beauticontrol. its like foundation and powder all in one. it gives you really great coverage for those blemishes but isn't heavy on your face.
Try Mary Kay Cosmetics. We offer a whole line of products that taylor to every need that your skin may be experiencing.

The Dermalogica skin care range is absolutely brill. They don't use synthetic ingredients like a lot of the big brand names so it won't block your pores - its all natural. Don't use moisturizer overnight. Wash before going to bed, using a good cleanser and toner, then do the same thing in the morning, but use moisturizer with sunscreen before you go out. If you are worried about developing shine during the day, take powder and apply that periodically. If it's really bad during the day, wash your face and moisturise again during the middle of the day, like during lunch. Read my web page, and go to Clinique and get assistance. They will be able to choose products which will work with your skin type. I'm similar, but things are getting better as I get older. I'm 36 and I still get the occasional pimple... eek
I have used face mask 2 to 3 times a week for pores and oily skin. I also use a hydrating moisturizer.

Oil of olay hydrating moisturizer and gace mask may cost you 10 dollars together. Adding a toner to your routine may also help.
I had same problem. What I did to help me get started in reducing oily skin. Wash face with unscented Dove soap then I would get cotton ball with some (light) alcohol and wipe entire face and let dry. Then I would apply lightly nonscented Dove or Nivea lotion (not cream). I would do this twice a week and I have decreased the oil on my face and it has decreased my getting pimples. The alcohol helps open your pores and get the gunk out of your face. Just don't do no more than once or twice a week.

ive got severly oily skin, and m.a.c. studio fix powder just caked on my face and didnt cover up the zits and scars that came with the oily skin. now i use clinique superbalanced makeup, which stays on all day and doesnt change color. then i dust the mac powder over it 2 set it. i started this 2 weeks ago, and it works so far. good thing about it though, you and i wont have to deal with wrinkles for years.
i have oily to combination skin and i used to use stila cosmetics (they have an oil-free liquid and stick foundation that worked pretty well for me). but i just started using bare minerals/escentuals and i love it. it feels very light on my skin and it's healthier for the skn, too. i will not go back to using other cosmetics lines.
    Neutrogenia!

Hands down Everyday Minerals, Intensive Formula. I have tried every thing that you could name of, from Vincent Longo to Covergirl. Try everydayminerals.com. The company sends samples for free so you have nothing to lose-
i use bare minerals an i have oily skin and i love it. it doesn't ';slide'; off my face like liquid. it is kind of expensive to start but, i only order it three times a year. qvc has the starter kit for about $40.
Something matte and oil-free that won't clog your pores.
The best mineral makeup I've ever used I picked up at a skin spa - it's called Jane Iredale. It will last all day and not sweat off. (It's not shimmery like Bare Escentuals). You can order it from Skin-etc. or other sites, but a lot of the time you can't exchange it so make sure you have the color you want. I'm a light beige and I wear the ';satin'; color. Or you can go to a local skin spa and try to find out what they recommend. All the other junk in the stores clogs pores.
Something, of course, oil free. Stay away from heavy foundations, and go for light concealer coverage.

Apply a hydrating (not oily!) moisturiser before and steer clear of illuminators, bronzers, or anything with glitter or sheen in it, as it will just make you look even oilier.

Use blotting papers when neccessary and always apply and light layer of pressed powder on your T-zone.

How do you stop oily skin from getting darker later in the day when using powder on your face?

    Lots of oil-blotting papers!

Don't be cheap; use as much as you need to get ALL the oil off your face before reapplying.

Paper towels DO NOT work as well as these papers. How do you stop oily skin from getting darker later in the day when using powder on your face?
Use an Oil Controlling powder I use Cornsilk (find it at any drugstore) it controls the oil and you can get it in a translucent light, medium, or dark. That will keep you from getting dark. Plus, the before mentioned oil absorbing pads do help, they do leave a little powder behind (in my experience). Also consider using a different cleanser and foundation again something that will control the oil manufacturing. How do you stop oily skin from getting darker later in the day when using powder on your face?
Use blotters like suggested, don't put on as much powder, or you can get powders specifically for oily skin
You should find a Mary Kay consultant in your area go to

Use specially designed powder for oily faces, or try powder free makeup. It looks good, and doesn't have the same issues.

AHA products??I have a very delicate oily skin with open pores and acne scars?

Can i use Aha product to make my skin smooth??And will it also reduce my pores?Which skin peeling product is best available ?And if there is some one who have used an AHA poduct please tell there experience ?Please help me i m very fed up of my skin ?AHA products??I have a very delicate oily skin with open pores and acne scars?
For your case, the best product would be ClearPores. link: http://www.easynaturalyou.com/clearpores鈥?/a>

    Let me explain!

You said you have delicate oily skin. With ClearPores you get a herbal supplement which is the key ingredient to their success. It provides your body with the right nutrition to help with acne from the inside. It helps that your sebaceous glands produce less oil. This oil causes pores to get clogged and then bacteria gets trapped inside. It multiplies and feeds on dead skin cells. And this is acne.

You got scares because this bacteria went deep and damaged tissue of lower skin layers that don't heal as fast as upper layers. Herbal supplement from ClearPores is best for this. Skin will heal faster and once bacteria is gone even the scarred tissue can heal. But remember, as long as the bacteria is there you can't expect the scars to go away. That's why it is absolutely a must to deal with the problem with nutrition.

You also get 2 great lotions to cleanse your skin and protect it from further acne.

Open pores are actually a positive side. Once ClearPores cleans up your skin you won't notice the pores anymore. They look open and big because they're clogged deeper inside. Once the acne is gone your skin will look perfect.

Had great success this way, you can have it too.

Sorry I don't know about the AHA products.

Hope this answer helped! Good Luck.AHA products??I have a very delicate oily skin with open pores and acne scars?
I just recently tamed my oily skin. For me, the key was a skin serum with AHAs and BHAs (18% concentration). There are many skin serums out there but best to look for one with at least 10% (15% or more is even better) AHAs and BHAs. It helped clear up my skin immediately, stopped the over production of oil and stopped the breakouts almost completely. My pores are also noticeably smaller and as a result, smoother skin. I have been using it for almost 5 months now.

I am currently using a line called Rationale (from Austrailia) which is on the expensive side (about $130 per 2oz bottle) since its medical grade - also called a cosmeceutical. I only use 3 drops for my whole face at night and 1 drop in the t-zone in the morning and the oil is under control at all times. So the bottle lasts a long time.....after 4 months, I still have almost 1/3 left. (FYI - I was gifted the serum otherwise I would not have gotten it on my own!!!)

There is another skin serum out there that is almost identical to what I have been using except that it is a lower concentration of AHAs and BHAs (15% instead of 18%) and has a few other ingredients in it. It's by a company called ';Great Skin'; and it is also a lot less expensive - its called ';AHA/BHA Lipo Serum';. I have not tried it yet, but like I said, it has almost the same ingredients so I would guess it is definitely worth a shot. PLUS they list the ingredients for each product on their site which, to me, is a sign of a reputable company. I'll probably give this a try when I run out of my current serum since its more in my price range....unless I get a raise!!!

Other things to consider are cleansers. Using a cleanser that is solvent based and NOT detergent based will help to remove oil WITHOUT stripping it. Detergents are the sulfates that make the cleansers foam. Solvent based cleansers are more like cleansing creams that does NOT lather up or lathers only a little bit.

I would suggest to start with the serum to get the oil under control - maybe switch to a solvent based cleanser too. Once you have the oil taken care of, you will then be able to see what else your skin is doing and add products from there accordingly. Be wary of 'beauty consultants' who want to sell you an entire skin care line right off the bat. Chances are, you don't need all the steps they suggest.

As for peels, they are pretty harsh so you only want to do it every 1-2 weeks. I have the micropeel from Rationale but it turned out it was too strong for me so I just don't use it.

Hope this helps you a little.
    use biore

Cut a tomato in half with a sharp knife.

Rub the tomato halves on your skin.

Leave the juice on for at least fifteen minutes. Let the skin soak in the juice, so that it saturates into the skin pores.

Wash your skin with warm water, then wash with cool water. This closes skin pores and helps keep bacteria from spreading.

Pat your skin dry with a towel. Tomatoes are acidic and contain potassium and Vitamin C. That's why tomatoes are excellent for oily skin!

Always pat your face dry with a towel. Rubbing can spread bacteria, causing pimples. It also increases the chance of more wrinkles.

  • Any home remedy for oily skin?

i have very oily skin..which gets tanned easily and also becomes dull when i step out in the sun.

any home remedy by which i can control all this?Any home remedy for oily skin?
You should give tea tree oil a shot. I had mild acne for a while and even tho I washed my face every night I still had acne. So I use tea tree oil and within a week my acne was pretty much gone except for a few spots here and there, which will fade soon too.

Tea tree oil can be used for any skin type even if you have very sensitive skin. And in that case I would dilute the oil with either water or aloe vera gel, which you can get at any drug store.

There are only two downsides to tea tree oil and that is is that the smell is pretty strong, and it can dry out your face a little, which can be taken care of by using a moisturizer.

The oil can be found in any drugstore/grocery store/health store next to the finger nail polish remover.

I would recommend putting it on at night before you go to sleep.

If you have any more questions there are many websites about this product, or feel free to ask me.Any home remedy for oily skin?
I know of a few. You could take some sea salt, mix it with lukewarm water and splash it on your face with every morning...I heard it really helps cut down on oil. You could use oil blotting sheets (http://www.thebeautymanifesto.com/blog/w… throughout the day...all you do is wipe one over your face and it removes oil for a couple of hours. Another good thing to do if you wnat to get rid of oiliness is not wash your face very much. Twice a day (morning and evening) is good, and you should use a milder cleanser. This way, your face is not stripped of natural, good oils and is not forced to compensate by producing even more sebum.

For tans...apply sunblock every day before leaving home. The higher spf the better. Or, if you use moisturisers or foundation, choose the ones that have spf 15 or higher. For dullness...There are a few natural products, like honey or lemon juice, that you can apply on your face and that gives it a nice glow (honey, just spread it thinly and evenly on your face, leave it on for about 20 minutes, then wash off. you can buy bottled lemon juice and pour a few drops on a cotton pad or ball, then wipe it on your face, leave on for about 20 minutes also, then wash off. Do this once a day). If you wear makeup, you can also use bronzers and highlighters....they give your face a nice glow.

when i was 15, i had horribly oily skin. my skin would be greasy almost an hour after washing it. if this is the case, you will probably grow out of it like i did, and many others do.

if it really bothers you and you dont mind paying lots of money for a perscription and dermatology appointment, they can probably give you some meds that decreases the ammount of oils your body produces.

As a 30 year old male with oily skin, what facial, anti aging products should i use? like daily procedures?

what products should i use and in what order? i.e : face wash then moisterizer? and what type? plus would them products alone be enough? As a 30 year old male with oily skin, what facial, anti aging products should i use? like daily procedures?
don't worry so much about anti-aging, just use dial or zest soap and twice or three times a week steam your pores , then if you use a toner like sea-breeze on your forehead, chin and the sides of your nose (t-zone) and use just a mild moisturizer at night. in the winter you may need day moisturizer...i don't know how the weather is there now but that's been my routine 4 yrs and i look 25 but i'm 41

Will olive oil help oily skin?

I was looking through Tyra Bank's website, and there was an article about how using olive oil as a cleanser will help reduce oil. Is this true?

By the way, I have very oily skin (and I mean VERY), and it's acne prone, but even under all that oil my skin is flaky/dry. I hope that makes sense.

If you know of any other way to make my skin normal, that would be great. Will olive oil help oily skin?
Ummmmmmmm I don't think Tyra knows what she is talking about. Will olive oil help oily skin?
NOOOOOOOOOOO, if you have very oily skin keep ANYTHING that has any type of oil in it away from your face!

Some say that might work, but your face already produces enough oil why would you add more?

    It's not healthy.

Use facewash with sulfur in it.

Sulfur helps dry out your face, in a sense, so I think it would help your skin with becoming a lot less oily.
You need to exfoliate, remove the dead skin. Using the olive oil and a facial scrubby thing will help if you want to try the ilive iol treatnment but there are many other poducts that will help remove the dead skin. try to keep hair as clean as possible also. And a clean pillow case everyday.
Oil making skin less oily??? I dought that. I would say it makes it worse. I wouldnt try that out. Go to target and ask for strips that take out oil from clean and clear. I used to use those and they really helped. There blue strips of thin soft paper and it takes out all your oil. Good luck.
Olive Oil is about the healthiest thing on earth, both as a food additive and as a skin product. The effects of putting Olive Oil on your skin are well known to be quite beneficial.
I would think putting oil on oily skin would make more oil. Maybe it would help idk try it and see if it works that's all I can say.
No Olive Oil is good rubbed in your scalp before bed. It moisturizes your scalp and hair.
Olive oil will probably make it worse...try tea tree oil. It works wonders for me.
no ot is olive OIL da
never heard about using olive oil for that...but tea tree oil works very well! get it at the body shop
i dont get it , how will oil help get rid of oil ..
    i dont think so
ive never heard of oil reducing ily skin but u should try using oil free products on ur skin

My skin has always been bad until recently. The best thing you can do for your skin ( well what worked for me) is to use a microdermabrasion scrub ( Nuetragena makes one) at least a couple days a week to get any loose and flakey skin off. I tried the Clinique skin care line. It comes with a bar of soap, a toner and a lotion. The lotion hydrates but isn't oily AT ALL it's great, so you don't feel like there's even a chance of it breaking out your skin. It won't dry out your skin, it feels very refreshing. There are a few different types. Choose the one that fits you best. Mine was combination skin. They have oily and dry etc. Good luck
there are many factors involved... but i think Cetaphil Daily Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin covers the basics of those factors. plus, it's hypo-allergenic... also, you might want to try St Ives medicated apricot scrub for oily or acne prone skin. works well for me... =)
tinapot a big big news for you!...

  • Do you know any good mask or any cleansers that wil dry my oily zitty face. im 30 and have oily skin?

I'll recommend the ';Vichy Normaderm'; product line till the day I die. Excellent products.

I have the same problem and their Exfoliating Gel Scrub with the Anti-Imperfection hydrating care works wonders for me. They've also got this brilliant Anti-Imperfection stick that dries them out very quickly.

Whatever way you go, good luck!Do you know any good mask or any cleansers that wil dry my oily zitty face. im 30 and have oily skin?
If you know anyone that sells Mary Kay, they have great masks for all skin types. They have them for dry, oily, and combination skin.

You can locate a rep in your area:

go to Walmart and get Acne Free that will help yu take care of the problem.
ooooo, Queen Helene for sure!! I love it! And yes it is very cheap! Its a green mint mud mask and you can leave it on over night if you want. Never had a reaction to it or anything and that is ususally good to shrink zits in a day or so. For everyday maintance, you want to make sure you dont dry out your skin to much cuz that will cause it to over produce oil so what you want to do is wash with a good cleanser, I have oily acne prone skin and Biore Skin clearing wash works best for me. use St. Ives Scrub for acne prone skin. Start out using 2x a week, to remove oil and dead skin build up which causes the break outs and then, If you wear foundation, use Almay skin clearing foundation, works great!!! Wont over dry your skin like most skin clearing foundations. Then at night wash again with the Biore cleanser.... try that. Hope it works! If you choose not to use those products, just dont try to over dry your skin, trust me, its just gonna get worse...
Try those Aveeno cleansing pads for oily skin. They exfoliate and clear up skin and have soy in them to soften your skin. They are 6 or 7 dollars at Walmart. I am older than you and I still wake up every morning with a super oily face. They do help keep it under control. And I use a high strength benzolyl peroxide cream under makeup.
There is a really good mask that you can get at most drug and discount stores called Queen Helene. I like the Mud and Mint Julep. They are usually very cheep.
    mud masque
cetaphil. its about ten dollars but its the best thing ever. i use this thing called benzaclin and it works really good too. it takes about 3 months to work to its fullest, but you do notice a difference sooner. its prescribed so youd have to ask a doctor or dermatologist. maybe you can search it up on the computer
There is a special oil defense line my mom started using that works great. you can get it at www.beeroyalproducts.com

Also the mud mask is fantastic I use and love it.
It might seem counterintuitive but ';drying'; your face will just make oily skin worse, and will make it red and irritated to boot. I am 26 and have oily skin and occasional acne and I use Clinique 3 step system for oily/combination skin. It is formulated for oily skin, but is balancing rather than overdrying. You don't necessarily have to buy Clinique, just remember: cleanse, tone, moisturize.

First, wash face with a gentle cleanser that doesn't overdry (try Cerave, Cetaphil daily cleanser, or clinique facial soap for oily skin). Then, follow with a clarifying toner that contains salicylic acid and/or beta hydroxy acid to exfoliate and control oil and breakouts (try Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner or Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3). Follow with a light oil free moisturizer to hydrate skin and prevent oil glands from going into overdrive (try Clinique Dramatically different moisturizing gel or biore oil control lotion).

The key is controlling the oiliness and acne, not just drying it up. Once I learned to keep my skin balanced and happy, my oiliness is better and I hardly break out.

If it doesn't get better, see a dermatologist. You can even talk to your gynecologist, as most skin probs at your age are hormonal, and birth control can help.
